Manchester United are keeping their options open ahead of the final days of the transfer window, with a left-back and a forward still potentially on the agenda at Old Trafford.
Net spend and squad gaps
United have a net spend of just £110million this summer and are yet to sign anyone to compete with Luke Shaw, while Joshua Zirkzee's expected departure could open up another hole in the squad.
United have made a summer deadline day signing for six years in a row and it looks like there could be more business on Tuesday again, although it is more likely to be stop-gap deals at this stage.
Left-back targets
Lewis Hall and Myles Lewis-Skelly were on the radar at left-back, but with that duo staying at Newcastle and Arsenal, any move now is likely to be a backup to Shaw, rather than someone to come in as true competition.
Alejandro Balde could leave Barcelona before Tuesday's deadline, but the La Liga side are keen on a sale and United would rather do a loan deal.
Old Trafford sources insist any deal before the deadline has to be the right opportunity, but they are open to additions at left-back and attack and a loan signing is seen as more likely as things stand.
Zirkzee's exit
Zirkzee's future has been on the agenda all summer and although it's taken a while, he now looks certain to make his move away from Old Trafford.
The Dutch forward was ready to leave in January but had a change of heart earlier in the summer and was content to stay and fight for his place, but with minutes difficult to come by an exit is now seen as a near certainty.
There have been enquiries from several clubs in the last week or so, but it's Fiorentina who are leading the race to sign Zirkzee. It is expected to be a loan deal, with an obligation to buy.
Rashford to stay
Marcus Rashford is pushing for a start against Ipswich this weekend and his future now looks certain to be at Old Trafford beyond Tuesday's transfer deadline.
Fenerbahce have been active pursuers of the 28-year-old in recent weeks and they confirmed their Champions League place this week, but even that boost hasn't been able to convince Rashford to make the move.
The Turkish giants have been told that Rashford doesn't want to join and all parties now see his immediate future at Old Trafford. Chelsea and Arsenal have been mentioned as clubs who might yet try to test the water early next week, but that's seen as unlikely and United would be reluctant to sanction a move to a direct rival.
Sesko's shirt business
After his impressive first season leading the line for United, and with Rasmus Hojlund completing a permanent move to Napoli, there was some expectation that Sesko would take the No.9 shirt at Old Trafford this season.
Sesko looked the real deal at times last year after his £73million move from RB Leipzig and he looks the part as a United No.9, but he has opted to stick with the 30 he wore last year and never had any intention of changing.
The Slovenian wore that number at Red Bull Salzburg and RB Leipzig and it is considered personal to him, which is why he wanted to keep it.
That left the No.9 open and it's why Rashford ended up taking that number. He wore 14 at Barcelona last season, but did wear the No.9 during his half-season at Aston Villa.
Carrington dispatch
There was plenty of delight at United drawing Como on Thursday in the Champions League but it came as a surprise to some supporters that there is no decision yet on where the Serie A side will play their home games in the competition.
They have spent three months trying to bring their Giuseppe Sinigaglia Stadium up to UEFA standards, and a decision on whether the governing body will now approve the ground to host Champions League fixtures is due in the next couple of days.
With supporters keen to book trips and United staff keen for clarity on where they will be playing, it is a decision that needs to be made sooner rather than later.

Carrick shows a bit of bite to Jan Aage Fjortoft after being asked whether United showed a lack of passion against Hull City. The United head coach looked taken aback to be asked the question by a former professional who has played in the Premier League and it clearly touched a nerve.
It's going to be a late one on Tuesday. It's transfer deadline day and, as mentioned above, United have history when it comes to doing late deals.
They are still in the market for additions this summer and it wouldn't be a surprise if attempts to strengthen the squad went close to the 11pm deadline.
