Paul Pogba has played his final match for Manchester United and has reportedly left the squad's WhatsApp group, signalling the end of his turbulent second spell at Old Trafford. The 29-year-old is out for the remainder of the season after sustaining an injury in the 4-0 defeat at Liverpool on 19 April.
Pogba, who rejoined United from Juventus in 2016 for a club-record £89 million, is set to become a free agent this summer. Sources indicate he has received contract offers from Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, while Barcelona have also expressed interest following a recent £236 million sponsorship deal with Spotify.
The World Cup winner's relationship with United fans has soured, culminating in him sarcastically cupping his ear to boos after a 3-2 win over Norwich earlier in April. Pogba has vented frustrations over his role under interim manager Ralf Rangnick, stating: 'It's simple with France: I play and I play in my position; I know my role... do I really have a role? Rangnick acknowledged Pogba's likely departure, saying: 'As it seems right now he will not renew his contract... It’s most likely he won’t be here anymore next season.'
