Manchester United are preparing for their first match of the new Premier League season against Hull City at the MKM Stadium on Saturday, August 22. Manager Michael Carrick, who took charge midway through last season and secured Champions League qualification, is expected to field a side that could include three more new signings.
Strong start to transfer window
The club made a fast start to the summer transfer window with the arrivals of Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos. However, progress has slowed in recent weeks, with no further additions confirmed publicly. Still, there is time for more deals before the season opener.
Potential line-up
In goal, Senne Lammens is set to continue as first-choice after establishing himself last season. The defence could feature Noussair Mazraoui, Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez, and new signing David Raum, who is reportedly available for around £30m from RB Leipzig.
In midfield, Santos is expected to start alongside Bruno Fernandes, with Manu Kone potentially joining from Roma. Up front, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo are likely to lead the attack, while Ibrahim Mbaye could be a new addition on the left, with the PSG youngster reportedly valued at £50m.
Full predicted XI
The full predicted team is: Lammens; Mazraoui, Maguire, Martinez, Raum; Santos, Kone; Mbeumo, Fernandes, Mbaye; Cunha.
