Manchester United have agreed a double transfer deal as Michael Carrick continues to reshape his squad. Goalkeepers Altay Bayindir and Radek Vitek are heading for the exit, with both players set to undergo medicals.
Bayindir joins Celta Vigo on loan
Bayindir has found first-team minutes hard to come by, so has been allowed to join Celta Vigo on loan for the season. The La Liga side will be able to make the move permanent for around £3.5m, according to reports.
Vitek moves to Middlesbrough
Radek Vitek is also on his way, joining Middlesbrough in a deal worth up to £14m. Boro will pay an initial £7m for the player, who impressed on loan last season at Bristol City. Standard Sport understands that United will hold a 35 per cent sell-on clause, matching rights for any future bids and a buy-back option.
Carrick's squad reshuffle continues
The manager is keen to both bolster and streamline his current crop ahead of the new season, and the club worked quickly to sign Andrey Santos from Chelsea last month. Youri Tielemans followed soon after Man Utd triggered the £35million release clause in his Aston Villa contract.
Through the exit door have been Rasmus Hojlund, joining Napoli after a successful loan spell, and the likes of Casemiro, Tyrell Malacia and Jadon Sancho have all departed following the expiry of their contracts.
Carrick remains keen to sign a new left-back, with the veteran Luke Shaw the only recognized player in that position in the first-team squad. Lewis Hall is a key target, but a deal for the Newcastle player is said to be extremely difficult to do.
