Seys has emerged as a new name on the wishlist, having impressed in the Belgian Pro League and earned a surprise call-up to Belgium's World Cup 2026 squad, where he played in the quarter-final defeat to Spain.
With Patrick Dorgu moved into a more advanced role, Diogo Dalot is the only other natural left-back option for Carrick. Luke Shaw, 31, is entering the final year of his contract, and his future at Old Trafford remains uncertain.
Tielemans deal praised
Former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has labelled United's £35m capture of Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa 'a steal'. The Belgium international joined after United triggered his release clause, with the move completed just 24 hours after Andrey Santos arrived from Chelsea for £48m.
Speaking on The Obi One Podcast, Mikel said: "For me, it's Youri Tielemans. Honestly, how did Manchester United get him for £35m? That's a steal. I watched him before and during the World Cup and you can see that this is a player."
Mikel praised Tielemans' versatility, intelligence, and technical ability, adding: "He scores goals, he's dangerous from set pieces, he's brilliant on the ball and he rarely gives it away. The only thing people can say is that he's not the quickest, but he reads the game so well."
