Manchester United travel to Leeds knowing they need a win to end a difficult week on a high, with head coach Michael Carrick set to make late calls on Luke Shaw and Kobbie Mainoo.
The Argentine defender Lisandro Martinez is available for selection after the club drew a line under his recent drama. However, Benjamin Sesko remains absent, with no timeline given for his return. He joins Patrick Dorgu, Noussair Mazraoui, Tom Heaton and Manuel Ugarte on the sidelines.
Fitness checks for Shaw and Mainoo
Shaw and Mainoo missed the game against Atletico Madrid with physical issues. Carrick confirmed both will undergo late checks to determine their availability for the Yorkshire clash.
With this in mind, MEN Sport asked its United writers to pick their teams to face Leeds.
Tyrone Marshall's selection
Tyrone Marshall would stick with the same principles that produced a platform to build on in Madrid. He would keep Ayden Heaven at left-back, with Diogo Dalot at right-back and Leny Yoro and Harry Maguire at centre-back, giving Martinez a rest ahead of the Como game.
In midfield, if Mainoo is unavailable, he would go with Carlos Baleba, Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans again, citing the control they delivered against Atletico. He would start Bruno Fernandes on the right, with Bryan Mbeumo through the middle and Matheus Cunha coming in for Marcus Rashford.
Steven Railston's selection
Steven Railston believes it would be a big boost if Shaw is back, given the experience the 31-year-old would bring at Elland Road. He would also bring Mainoo back if available, noting that Baleba seemed the perfect foil for him since arriving from Brighton in the summer.
Railston acknowledged Fernandes has looked exhausted since the World Cup but argued that world-class players can still produce moments of magic even when not at their best.
Jack Flintham's selection
Jack Flintham was not impressed by Dalot against Atleti and would move Yoro to right-back, starting Maguire and Martinez at centre-back. He would stick with Heaven at left-back given Shaw's injury record.
Flintham would risk Mainoo if he is feeling better, pairing him with Baleba. Tielemans should keep his place in attacking midfield, with Fernandes on the right. Up front, he would stick with Mbeumo in the absence of Sesko and prefer Rashford over Cunha.
