Lucumi's stance narrows the field
Sunderland failed to sign him last summer, while Chelsea, Juventus and Inter Milan have also been linked. According to Italian outlet Quotidiano Sportivo, Lucumi's desire to join only a top club makes United, Chelsea, and Juventus the most likely destinations.
United have reportedly made their move for the defender, who has just 12 months left on his contract and is open to joining. Chelsea, having agreed a deal for Trevoh Chalobah with Como, are also exploring a move for Lucumi. The future of Chelsea defender Benoit Badiashile could be key, with Juventus interested after Napoli's advances.
Bologna's asking price and rejected bids
Bologna want €25 million (£21.4m) plus €3 million (£2.6m) in add-ons. Juventus and Forest have had offers rejected for different reasons, with Juventus's two proposals falling below the valuation. Forest's bid was closer to the asking price, but Lucumi turned down the move to the City Ground because he wants a bigger club.
United were first linked to Lucumi over a week ago, with reports from Italy indicating he was waiting for more offers after Bournemouth and Forest made formal moves.
