Manchester City's winless streak extended to three matches after a 2-2 draw with Brighton at the Etihad Stadium. The reigning champions twice took the lead through Erling Haaland and Phil Foden, but Brighton fought back each time, with goals from Kaoru Mitoma and a late equaliser from Joao Pedro. City have now drawn two and lost one of their last three league games, leaving them fifth in the table.
Pep Guardiola's side dominated possession but struggled to contain Brighton's counter-attacks. Mitoma's first-half strike cancelled out Haaland's opener, and after Foden restored the lead early in the second half, Pedro's header in the 83rd minute secured a point for the visitors. City have now conceded seven goals in their last three games, a worrying trend for the defending champions.
Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi praised his team's resilience. 'We showed great character to come back twice against a top side,' he said. 'We have to keep this spirit going.' City, meanwhile, face a crucial Champions League clash against RB Leipzig before hosting Liverpool in the league next weekend.
