Manchester City's dressing room was left in shock after Real Madrid's stunning comeback in the Champions League semi-final second leg. Pep Guardiola's side had taken a 1-0 lead through Riyad Mahrez, but two stoppage-time goals from Rodrygo forced extra time, where Karim Benzema's penalty sealed a 3-1 win for Madrid (6-5 on aggregate).
Real Madrid's celebrations were wild, with players donning shirts reading 'A Por La 14' (let's go for No.14) as they took a lap of honour. The party continued in the dressing room, where Marcelo and Ferland Mendy led the dancing. Luka Modric praised fitness coach Antonio Pintus, shouting 'the Pintus method' as he hugged him.
Carlo Ancelotti hailed his squad's 'never say die' mentality, saying: 'I cannot say we are used to living this kind of life, but what happened tonight happened against Chelsea and also against PSG. If you have to say why, it is the history of this club that helps us to keep going when it seems that we are gone.'
Ancelotti added: 'The game was close to finished and we managed to find the last energy we had. We played a good game against a strong rival. When we were able to equalise we had a psychological advantage in extra-time.'
Madrid will face Liverpool in the Champions League final in Paris on May 28.
