The Premier League has announced updated kick-off times and television details for all August and September fixtures, with Manchester City's highly anticipated derby trip to Manchester United receiving a new date. The first Manchester derby of the season, set to take place at Old Trafford, will now be held on Sunday, September 13, with a 4.30pm kick-off. The match will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.
Derby Details and Manager's Debut
This fixture marks a significant moment for new City manager Enzo Maresca, who will experience his first Manchester derby as a head coach. Maresca previously served on Pep Guardiola's coaching staff during the 2022-23 season when City secured a historic Treble, including a resounding 6-3 victory over United at the Etihad, though they later lost the reverse fixture 2-1 after a controversial Bruno Fernandes equaliser. Last season, City suffered a 2-0 defeat in the corresponding fixture at Old Trafford, which was Michael Carrick's first match in charge of United.
Additional Fixture Changes
City's trip to Crystal Palace has also been rescheduled. The match will now take place on Friday, August 28, with an 8pm kick-off, also to be shown on Sky Sports. The Premier League has confirmed all other August and September fixtures for City, allowing fans to plan ahead. The season opener sees City host Bournemouth at the Etihad on Sunday, August 16, at 2pm, marking the first time in a decade that City begin a league campaign at home.
