Manchester City host Brighton in the Carabao Cup fourth round tonight, with a place in the quarter-finals up for grabs. Kick-off is at 7.30pm at the Etihad Stadium.
It is the first of two meetings between the sides in a matter of days, with Brighton returning to the Etihad for a Premier League fixture on Saturday.
Five First-Team Players Rested
City boss Enzo Maresca confirmed in his press conference on Tuesday that he has given five senior players three days off following the weekend defeat to Villa, meaning that quintet will be absent this evening.
Erling Haaland, Ruben Dias, Elliot Anderson, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Josko Gvardiol are the five who will not feature as they rest and recover. Geronimo Rulli will start in goal, while the likes of Rico Lewis, Floyd Samba, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Allan will be hoping for minutes.
How to Watch the Game
Tonight's clash is available to watch in the UK on Sky Sports. The game can be viewed via Sky Sports+, as well as streaming services SkyGo and NOW TV.
City are the holders of the competition, having beaten Arsenal at Wembley in last season's final. Brighton sit third in the Premier League table after a strong start to the season.
The two teams will face off again this weekend when they meet at the Etihad in the top flight.
