Holly Willoughby has been reunited with her TRIC Awards trophy after revealing on Wednesday's This Morning that her co-stars had misplaced the gong. The 38-year-old presenter won the TV Personality award on Tuesday, but the trophy went missing after being last seen in a McDonald's restaurant.
During the show, Holly urged viewers to help locate the award, describing it as 'gold and looks like a giant bottle opener'. Co-host Phillip Schofield explained that Eamonn Holmes had given the trophy to editor Martin Frizell, who assumed someone else on the team had it.
Later, Holly posted a photo on Instagram with the trophy, writing: 'Oh my goodness me... thank you #tricawards this means so much... huge kiss from me... I’m very lucky to work on amazing shows with amazing people who make everyday at work an absolute joy!'
Holly had missed Tuesday's edition of This Morning to attend her grandmother's funeral. She shared a tribute on Instagram, saying: 'Today we say goodbye for a little while to my beautiful Nan... Go and be with Grandad... he's been waiting for you... love you... miss you...'
Phillip Schofield addressed her absence on air, sending love to Holly and her family. Holly returned to work on Wednesday and expressed her delight at winning the award, despite not being able to accept it in person.
