Manchester City trained in Seoul on Saturday night ahead of their friendly with Atletico Madrid. The Blues have been here since Tuesday and played the K-League All Stars on Wednesday in sweltering heat as temperatures felt like 45 degrees.
There was more of a breeze on Saturday and City will hope for the same on Sunday when they are back at the Seoul World Cup Stadium to face Diego Simeone's side in the final leg of their Asia trip. They will fly home immediately after the game to prepare for the Community Shield and the start of the new campaign.
Fans were invited to watch the session and journalists were as well, allowing access to City training that is not usually seen when the season starts. The Blues will also put on a session back at the City Football Academy on Thursday for supporters in Manchester.
Parker races Semenyo
Xavier Parker is the youngest member of the touring squad, having only recently turned 16. He is also one of just a few players to have not had any game time so far in the two friendlies.
The teenager certainly caught the eye in an early drill though where players were in teams of five and had to dribble their way through cones and then race back to help their group finish first. Antoine Semenyo was in his element as he carried the ball at his feet but he was at least matched by youngster Parker in what was a very fast footrace.
Line-up hint?
As the session moved on, Maresca - who was incredibly hands-on again with all of the drills - took half of the pitch and picked 11 players that he wanted to use for a specific build-up. That XI was: Donnarumma, Nunes, Dias, Reis, Gvardiol, Kovacic, Reijnders, Foden, Savinho, Semenyo, Marmoush.
Perhaps it was a hint at tomorrow's line-up, but it would be no surprise if Maresca didn't care if there were any Atletico analysts still at the stadium watching and just used the players he is going to start tomorrow to give them the best chance of following out his instructions in the game.
McAidoo moves
Ryan McAidoo was one of the standout players in the first friendly against Inter, looking sharp on the right wing in the second half and coming close to scoring. But he was ruled out of the second game with a minor shoulder problem.
The sling was off on Saturday and while he wasn't able to join in any team training, he did plenty of individual work with coaches both with and without the ball. That supports indications that the injury isn't serious and could even give McAidoo a chance of featuring against Arsenal in the Community Shield.
Attack, attack, attack
There was a lot of focus on attacking over the course of the hour. There were also defenders involved trying to keep out the goals, but Maresca's priority appeared to be getting across to his side how he wants them to move the ball from their half to the goal of the opposition.
Plenty of that involved getting balls out to the wingers, who would then get it back into the box for somebody to strike at goal. Erling Haaland will have been licking his lips if he was watching; it is early days but City look like they are going to be exciting to watch this season.
Dias leads applause
The session was of course to help City with their preparations, but it was also about showing some love to a part of the world where it is very difficult to see the team and also difficult to watch matches given the eight-hour time difference. The stadium wasn't anywhere near full given it was baking hot but there were plenty of excited Koreans making noise during the hour.
As it came to a close, it was Ruben Dias who started applauding the supporters and led the team on a lap of honour before they went and met some fans on the far side of the ground. The Portugal international is expected to take over the captaincy from Bernardo Silva and led from the front for the club on this occasion.
