Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca has declined to offer assurances that Tijjani Reijnders will remain at the club beyond the current transfer window. The Dutch international, who joined City last season, has attracted interest from Nottingham Forest and Galatasaray, with City not ruling out a sale.
Maresca's response on Reijnders
Asked directly whether he wanted to keep Reijnders, Maresca highlighted the player's efforts during the pre-season tour. "He's a player that is here with us," he said. "The players that are with us until the day that they aren't with us, it's my duty to do the best for them. I'm happy with his performance and he's working good since he came back from his holiday. At the moment I'm very happy with him."
Savinho also under speculation
Savinho, another City player on tour, faces an uncertain future with Tottenham reportedly interested in signing him this summer. Maresca acknowledged the broader context of transfer speculation affecting the squad.
"In this moment, there is many speculation about our players - Savi is not the only one. While Savinho is here, we're going to try and do our best to help him how he can improve and then unfortunately we said many times with the transfer window open anything can happen we need to be ready for that."
