Michael van Gerwen defeated Gian van Veen 8-6 in an all-Dutch final to win the Bahrain Masters title. The three-time world champion let slip 3-0 and 6-2 leads before clinching the trophy for the first time.
World number one Luke Littler saw his 21-match unbeaten run ended by Gerwyn Price in the quarter-finals. Price beat Littler 6-2 before losing 7-2 to Van Gerwen in the semi-finals.
Van Gerwen produced a 130 checkout on the bull to secure an early break in the final. He averaged over 107 as he opened a 6-2 lead, but Van Veen fought back to 6-5 and 7-6. Van Gerwen held his nerve to win the decisive 14th leg.
Earlier, Van Gerwen ousted defending champion Stephen Bunting 6-4 in the last eight. World number two Luke Humphries was also knocked out in the quarter-finals, losing 6-3 to Nathan Aspinall.
A power failure briefly halted play before Van Veen sealed his semi-final place with a 6-1 win against Danny Noppert.
