Luke Littler's girlfriend, Eloise Milburn, posted a touching birthday message for the darts sensation as he turned 17 on Sunday. The teenager, who recently became the youngest PDC World Championship finalist, celebrated his birthday after a remarkable year that included a victory at the Bahrain Masters.
Milburn shared a collage of photos on Instagram with the caption: 'Happiest of birthdays to this one! Have the best day, love you.' She also congratulated him on his Bahrain Masters win and his nine-darter against Nathan Aspinall, writing: 'You never fail to amaze me! And omggg a nine-darter. Wish I could have seen it in person! So proud.'
Littler had earlier revealed his birthday plans, saying he would treat his family to a meal after returning from Bahrain. 'I land at Heathrow airport in London on Saturday morning, so I'll be travelling back to Warrington. Then I'll be relaxing Saturday night. On Sunday, we'll all go out as a family for a meal, and even though it's my birthday, I'll treat them,' he said.
Reflecting on his achievements, Littler admitted he had set no specific goals for the year. 'I've not really set any goals for this year. I didn't even expect to pick this trophy up this week. It's been good to come here with great people, a great crowd once again on my side, but I'm just happy. There's no goals for this year, I just need to see what my darts do,' he stated.
Meanwhile, Michael van Gerwen, whom Littler defeated in the Bahrain final, issued a warning to the youngster. 'It is never going to be a good week when Michael is not winning, simple as that. [Littler] has had a fantastic tournament as well - everyone says he is a new kid, but everyone knows what he is capable of. I couldn't produce what I was doing in the early games [in the final]. You can only punish yourself for that. You have to make sure you get better for the next one. I'll get him, don't worry,' van Gerwen said.
