Liverpool's Doak Set for Bournemouth Loan Move

Bournemouth are closing in on a deal to sign Liverpool forward Ben Doak for £25m. The 19-year-old Scotland international would represent a huge profit for Liverpool, who paid Celtic just £600,000 in training compensation in 2022.

Doak has been linked with several Premier League clubs and Porto, but Bournemouth have moved ahead as Dango Ouattara is poised to join Brentford for up to £42.5m. The move comes after Doak spent last season on loan at Middlesbrough, where a thigh injury requiring surgery cut short his campaign in late January.

Doak was an unused substitute in Liverpool's Community Shield defeat on Sunday, and his future at Anfield had looked uncertain under new manager Arne Slot, who has spent heavily this summer. Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola has turned his attention to attacking reinforcements after completing the signing of French centre-back Bafode Diakité from Lille for £34.5m.

Doak's arrival at the Vitality Stadium is expected to be accompanied by the departure of Luis Sinisterra, who is set to join Cruzeiro on loan. Meanwhile, Bournemouth are also interested in Chelsea defender Josh Acheampong, but the Blues are expected to reject any offers for the 19-year-old, who has been praised by manager Enzo Maresca.
