Curtis Jones has long been linked with a move away, and Inter Milan have emerged as the frontrunners for his signature. Talks are continuing between the clubs, although there remains a gap in valuations. Inter value the midfielder at £21m, while Liverpool are holding out for £34m.
Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Inter will make an all-out push for Jones once they finalise the free-agent signing of John Stones. Head coach Cristian Chivu is reportedly eager to complete a deal, and following a meeting two evenings ago, Inter's hierarchy agreed on a measured but purposeful approach.
Jones came off the bench during Liverpool's 1-0 win over Wrexham and was seen in a lively exchange with several team-mates at the final whistle.
Bradley Barcola boost
Liverpool have also entered negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain over Bradley Barcola, who carries a £140m price tag. Preliminary discussions with the player's representatives have taken place, with early indications positive.
However, PSG are widely expected to find a replacement before allowing Barcola to leave. According to Sky Sports Germany, a significant breakthrough has occurred in talks over Maghnes Akliouche, with all parties confident an agreement will be reached. The Monaco star has reportedly settled personal terms with Luis Enrique's side, and his anticipated arrival would hand Liverpool a significant advantage in their pursuit of Barcola.
