Andy Robertson is reportedly set to join Tottenham Hotspur this summer after playing his final match for Liverpool on Sunday. The Scotland international featured in the 1-1 draw with Brentford at Anfield, marking the end of his nine-year stint at the club.
Robertson, 32, joined Liverpool from Hull City in 2017 and made 378 appearances. He announced in April his intention to leave at the end of the season, with the club open to selling him before his contract expired. Tottenham attempted to sign him in January but failed to complete a deal.
Reports suggest Robertson has 'verbally agreed' personal terms with Spurs, who secured Premier League survival with a 1-0 victory over Everton on Sunday. The defender will now focus on representing Scotland at the World Cup this summer.
Speaking after the match, Robertson said: 'Emotionally drained. It's been a busy week trying to keep your emotions in check and saying bye to those you need to say bye to.' He added: 'This is a big chapter in our book but it's not the end. First and foremost, we have to switch off and focus on the World Cup.'
Robertson has been displaced by Milos Kerkez as Liverpool's first-choice left-back. He acknowledged January interest from Spurs but said: 'The decision was that I wanted to stay. We stayed at Liverpool and that was the decision made.'
