Liverpool are prepared to pay a fee of around £100 million for Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, according to BBC Sport. The Reds have already opened talks with the French club over a potential transfer.
PSG's asking price
PSG, however, are thought to want a fee in the region of £140 million to part with the player, a figure that would surpass the club record £125 million Liverpool paid for Alexander Isak last summer.
Liverpool have held discussions with Barcola's representatives and have received encouraging signals from the player's camp. The club will now attempt to negotiate a price with PSG, hoping the Ligue 1 side will lower their initial asking price and a compromise can be reached.
Second PSG deal explored
In addition to Barcola, Liverpool are weighing up a move for another PSG winger, 18-year-old Ibrahim Mbaye. The Reds are keen to bolster Andoni Iraola's attacking options before the transfer window closes.
The teenager, a right-winger, is reportedly valued at between £34.2 million and £43 million. Despite his age, Mbaye made 30 appearances in all competitions for PSG last season, though only 11 of those were starts.
With intense competition at the Parc des Princes, Mbaye could seek a move this summer for more regular game time. Liverpool may face competition from RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen, although reports in France suggest he would prefer a move to Anfield.
