Liverpool have no plans to sell Cody Gakpo this summer, Standard Sport understands, with no bid received or talks held over the Dutch winger despite Tottenham's interest.
The Reds are focused on signing an attacking player to replace Mohamed Salah rather than selling one before the transfer window closes next month.
Spurs close to new frontline addition
Tottenham are also looking at attacking reinforcements, with manager Roberto De Zerbi having said last week that the club were close to sealing a "bomba" new addition for their frontline.
Spurs have already spent £237million this summer and signed six players, but De Zerbi wants two to three more and insists the club's transfer business is only 60 per cent done.
Gakpo and Savinho on the wishlist
A winger and potentially another striker are on Tottenham's agenda, with Gakpo identified as an option for the left wing. Spurs also hold a long-standing interest in Manchester City winger Savinho, who has made clear he wants to leave the Etihad for more regular starts.
Gakpo won't come cheap
Liverpool would not be easy to deal with over Gakpo. The 27-year-old has four years left on his contract at Anfield, and the Reds want to bring in a replacement before contemplating any sale.
Liverpool are said to be exploring a blockbuster move for Paris Saint-Germain and France winger Bradley Barcola. However, that deal is complicated, with PSG reportedly valuing the 23-year-old at £145m.
