Jeremy Jacquet made his long-awaited Liverpool debut in a 2-0 win over Como on Sunday night, scoring the second goal after returning from a serious shoulder injury that had curtailed his campaign.
Debut and Goal
The 21-year-old defender, who joined from Rennes for £60million in January, made his first appearance for the club in front of the Liverpool faithful. He partnered Virgil van Dijk at the heart of defence, with the pair expected to be the first-choice centre-back partnership this season.
Jacquet bundled home from a corner for the second goal, after Cody Gakpo had opened the scoring. The match was the second of two fixtures against the Serie A side, with two separate teams playing in each.

Andoni Iraola fielded what is likely to be his first-choice XI in the second game, which was open to supporters. The earlier match, played behind closed doors at Anfield, ended in a goalless draw.
In the evening game, Alisson Becker started in goal, with Jeremie Frimpong at right-back and Milos Kerkez on the left. Ryan Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai formed the double pivot, with Florian Wirtz as the No10. Teenage starlet Rio Ngumoha played off the right flank, with Gakpo to the left of lone striker Alexander Isak.
Other Debuts and Substitutions
Loan arrival Ronald Araujo also made his debut from the bench, replacing Jacquet at the interval. There were minutes for Lewis Koumas on the right flank, while Victor Munoz was handed a cameo on 73 minutes. Trey Nyoni was introduced in place of Wirtz, and Isak was sacrificed late on for Will Wright.
In the earlier behind-closed-doors match, Alexis Mac Allister played 69 minutes before being replaced by Talla Ndiaye, while Harvey Elliott was fielded on the right flank and played 56 minutes. Federico Chiesa led the line, with Munoz starting on the left. Wataru Endo and Kostas Tsimikas both played 90 minutes in the backline, ahead of deputy shot-stopper Giorgi Mamardashvili.
