Liverpool are preparing an opening bid for Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, who is understood to be keen on a move to Anfield. The Ligue 1 champions value the France international at £145m, a figure that would break the Premier League transfer record and sits well above the £100m mark Liverpool chiefs prefer.
If the price proves an obstacle, the Reds could turn their attention to Bournemouth's Brazilian teenager Rayan, who has impressed since his January move to the south coast.
Rayan seen as dream target
talkSPORT reports that Rayan is considered a 'dream' target for Liverpool. However, the 19-year-old's release clause of £85m does not become active until 2027, meaning any club seeking his signature in the short term would likely have to pay in excess of that amount.
Bournemouth midfielder Marcus Tavernier has already predicted Rayan will not stay at the Vitality Stadium for long. After the Cherries' 3-0 win over Crystal Palace in May, he told Sky Sports: "Rayan and Kroupi? It's been unbelievable, they are two world-class talents. I don't think they will be at Bournemouth for a long period of time give the quality they have got. It's brilliant to have them on the pitch. As a team we give the young players the confidence to go out and play with freedom."
Barcola remains the priority
Barcola is still Liverpool's main target, with an offer expected imminently. PSG argue that the winger, a back-to-back Champions League winner, should be priced above Morgan Rogers, who moved to Chelsea for £117m, and Elliot Anderson's £116m switch to Manchester City.
The France international is not planning to sign a new contract in Paris and currently has two years remaining on his existing deal.
