Paris Saint-Germain are preparing an offer for £47m-rated Barcelona star Ferran Torres, a move that could push Bradley Barcola closer to joining Liverpool. Anfield chiefs have identified the Frenchman as a priority attacking target, with the player keen on joining and PSG open to selling.
PSG's attacking restructure
Luis Enrique looks to be targeting a major restructure in the PSG attack. Goncalo Ramos has already departed, and Maghnes Akliouche joined from Monaco. The latter deal was announced on Thursday, but the European champions are not done just yet.
Ajax's Mika Godts is also wanted in the French capital and has been omitted from their squad to face PEC Zwolle on Sunday as negotiations advance. Torres is now on their radar, with personal terms already agreed and an offer to be lodged to Barcelona next week.
Barcola's potential exit
So many frontline incomings being targeted suggests that PSG are preparing for a potential Barcola exit. Ibrahim Mbaye is also of interest to Liverpool. The latter played the entirety of PSG's friendly against Manchester United on Saturday, opening the scoring inside the first few minutes with Bryan Mbeumo later cancelling out that goal.
Liverpool are now believed to be weighing up a move for Mbaye in addition to Barcola, but the latter deal remains complicated by PSG's hefty triple-figure asking price.
Deal complications
L'Equipe have reported that a £98.5million bid is set to be lodged, but PSG plan to immediately reject that offer. They have also claimed that there is confidence on both sides a deal will be agreed.
That could open the door for Cody Gakpo to join Tottenham, with Roberto De Zerbi a big admirer of the Dutchman. Curtis Jones is another that could leave this summer, with Inter Milan interested.
Liverpool's new signings
New signings are the current priority for Liverpool. Ronald Araujo is set to join on loan from Barcelona in a deal that also includes a €55million (£47m) buy-option. The Uruguay international flew into Merseyside on Sunday to undergo a medical ahead of joining, with the defender viewed as cover in the centre of defence and at right-back. That plan will likely end interest in Tottenham's Djed Spence.
Midfield additions are also under consideration at Liverpool, with Lamine Camara of Monaco a target, but they could face competition from Manchester United, Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest.
