Liverpool fans are eagerly anticipating the debut of new summer signing Victor Munoz after a training video showcased his impressive finishing ability.
Munoz's return to training
The 23-year-old winger, who joined from Osasuna for £34.3m during the World Cup, has been given an extended break following Spain's triumph in the tournament. He has now linked up with his new teammates at Anfield.
Munoz's involvement in the World Cup meant Liverpool supporters had yet to see him in action, but his return to training this week has sparked excitement among the fanbase.
Training footage goes viral
A video of the Spanish international surfaced online, showing him cutting inside from the left onto his right foot, skipping past a defender and finding the back of the net. Another clip shows Munoz finding the top corner with his left foot, creating space for a shot in a tight area.
Fans have taken to social media to express their enthusiasm, with one drawing a comparison to Jamie Vardy in his prime. They said: "Love this type of finishing. Pure Jamie Vardy-esque, pick a side of the goal and put your laces through it."
Another fan commented: "His finishing with both feet impressive and looks jinky too, proper bargain, be comfortable saying now. Just off that."
One supporter predicted: "This guy is gonna be a superstar." Another was surprised by the finishing and joked: "I think I read somewhere that he was one of the least clinical finishers in Europe last season."
Munoz speaks on first days
Munoz has also spoken for the first time since his move, expressing his satisfaction after meeting his new teammates. Speaking to the club's official site, he said: "The truth is I feel very good. I had a great experience today with my teammates for the first time, they've all been very helpful and several of those teammates set out for me in a very simple manner things like where to go, what we are going to do, how things work."
He added: "And of course, I have had my first training session today with my teammates and the coach, and the class we had after the training session was very good and helpful also. So, I feel great."
