The club has previously seen players like Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah, Ibrahima Konate, and Roberto Firmino leave for minimal fees, and history may repeat itself. New head coach Andoni Iraola faces the challenge of managing a squad with uncertain futures.
Among those entering the final year of their deals are Van Dijk, Alisson, Jones, Harvey Elliott, Gomez, Wataru Endo, Kostas Tsimikas, Stefan Bajcetic, Calvin Ramsay, and Harvey Davies.
Key players' situations
Van Dijk, who turns 36 next June, remains influential and played the most minutes in Europe last season. His future is uncertain, with interest from MLS club Chicago Fire.

Jones has been the subject of a £30m approach from Inter Milan after a £21m offer was rejected, while Elliott returns from a loan at Aston Villa to impress Iraola.
