The England women's national football team has sold out Wembley Stadium for their upcoming match against Brazil in the first ever women's edition of the Finalissima. The Football Association confirmed on Tuesday that only hospitality packages remain available for the fixture, scheduled for April.
The Finalissima pits the Copa America champions against the European champions, offering both sides the chance to claim an additional trophy. England, as reigning European champions, will face Brazil, who won the Copa America Femenina in 2022.
The sell-out follows a surge in popularity for the Lionesses after their victory at Euro 2022 last summer. The team played in front of record crowds during the tournament, and demand for tickets has remained high since. England previously sold out Wembley for a match against the United States in 2022.
The Women's Super League has also seen a rise in attendance figures, attributed to the success of Sarina Wiegman's side. The Finalissima will be the first meeting between England and Brazil in women's football since 2019.
