Lewis Hamilton, the seven-time Formula One world champion, has been spending quality time with his mother Carmen Larbalestier in China ahead of the Chinese Grand Prix. The 41-year-old driver shared a series of photos on Instagram from their two-day trip to Jiuzhaigou in southwestern China, following last week's Melbourne Grand Prix.

The pair went horse riding and visited a Tibetan village, taking in the sights of Jiuzhaigou National Park. Hamilton revealed they stayed at the ultra-luxury Ritz-Carlton Rissai Valley resort. 'The past 48 hours have been filled with culture and nature,' he wrote. 'Riding horses, visiting a Tibetan village, and spending time with my mum has brought me so much joy.'

Hamilton added that he felt 'inspired and restored' ahead of the race in Shanghai on Sunday. 'I look forward to coming here every year. This year I wanted to do as much as I could before the race,' he said.

In other news, reports have emerged that Hamilton is in a relationship with reality TV star Kim Kardashian. A source told US Weekly that the couple are 'going strong and really happy,' with Hamilton 'head over heels' and believing he has 'finally met his match.' The Ferrari driver has reportedly been FaceTiming Kardashian regularly from the paddock, and she has been 'incredibly supportive' of his schedule.
