Leeds United's FA Cup run came to a disappointing end at Wembley as Chelsea secured a 1-0 victory to book their place in the final against Manchester City. Enzo Fernández scored the only goal of the game after 23 minutes, heading home a cross from Pedro Neto to settle the semi-final tie.
The defeat means Leeds have now failed to score in their last four visits to Wembley, with Eric Cantona's goal in the 1992 Community Shield remaining their most recent one at the stadium. Despite an unbeaten run of seven matches coming into the game, Daniel Farke's side could not find a way past Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sánchez, who produced a string of impressive saves.
Brenden Aaronson had the best early chance for Leeds after being played in by Dominic Calvert-Lewin, but Sánchez tipped his shot over the crossbar. The hosts responded with João Pedro hitting the post before Fernández broke the deadlock. Chelsea interim manager Calum McFarlane, who replaced the sacked Liam Rosenior earlier in the week, praised his team's performance after the match.
Leeds came out strongly in the second half, with substitute Anton Stach forcing another fine save from Sánchez and Calvert-Lewin also denied. However, Chelsea held firm to set up a final meeting with treble-chasing Manchester City, giving McFarlane the chance to become the first English manager since Frank Lampard to win the FA Cup.
