Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has no interest in letting striker Lukas Nmecha leave the club before the end of the transfer window, according to reports.
The German international has been the subject of transfer interest from Wrexham this summer, with the Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney-backed club previously reported to be plotting an audacious move to convince him to leave the Premier League side and move to north Wales as they bid for promotion from the Championship this season.
Nmecha's Leeds record
Manchester City academy product Nmecha scored six goals in 31 Premier League appearances for Leeds over the course of the last season, having moved to Elland Road from Wolfsburg last summer.
He also has experience of playing in the Championship, having starred in the second tier during loan spells with Preston and Middlesbrough, but he looks to be staying put as the end of the summer window draws closer.
In a blow to Wrexham's pursuit, Football Insider reports that Farke is not prepared to let Nmecha leave before the window closes on Tuesday, with the 27-year-old currently the only back-up to first-choice striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Leeds striker search
Leeds are in the market for another striker, with £25 million-rated Danish international Conrad Harder being heavily linked with a move to Elland Road in recent days.
But even if Harder comes in as another understudy to Calvert-Lewin, it appears unlikely that Nmecha will be allowed to leave.
Wrexham's busy window
Wrexham have been linked with several players in the final week of the summer window, having already made some key acquisitions to aid their promotion bid.
On Thursday, Phil Parkinson's side confirmed a double deal for wing-backs Jacques Ekomie and Issa Kabore, with the former moving from French side Angers in a deal believed to be around £7 million, and the latter re-joining the club after spending last season on loan at the Racecourse Ground.
Those signings followed a club record £8 million deal for goalkeeper Anthony Patterson, as well as moves for Crystal Palace defender Danny Imray and Preston North End captain Ben Whiteman.
Former Burnley captain Josh Brownhill is the latest name to be linked with Wrexham, with the Welsh side one of several clubs eyeing a deal to bring the midfielder back to the UK from Saudi Pro League club Al Shabab.
West Ham, Birmingham, Southampton and Wolves have also been linked with the 30-year-old, as have Premier League new boys Hull and Coventry.
Meanwhile, Wrexham have also been linked with a stunning move for Lyon midfielder Pavel Sulc, who is valued at a whopping £35 million by the French club.
Parkinson's side have also emerged as the favourites to sign Australia international Harry Souttar from League One side Leicester City, while they have also been linked with moves for Ipswich Town's Anis Mehmeti and Millwall's Femi Azeez.
