Constitution Hill's Sire Blue Bresil Dies Aged 20

Blue Bresil, the sire of champion hurdler Constitution Hill, has died at the age of 20 at Glenview Stud in County Cork, Ireland. The stallion had become one of the leading jumps sires, producing 132 individual winners since 2013.

His most famous offspring, Constitution Hill, trained by Nicky Henderson, won the Champion Hurdle at the 2023 Cheltenham Festival among eight Grade 1 victories. Other successful progeny include Royale Pagaille, Blue Lord, and Mick Jazz.

Blue Bresil had recently covered top mares such as two-time Champion Hurdle winner Honeysuckle, 11-time Grade 1 winner Apples Jade, and Champion Chase winner Put The Kettle On. His first Irish crop of four-year-olds has shown promise this season.
