Jürgen Klopp has suggested he could one day return as Liverpool manager, saying it is 'theoretically possible' despite stepping down in 2024. The 58-year-old, who led the club to Champions League and Premier League glory, made the comments on The Diary of a CEO podcast.
Klopp, now head of global soccer at Red Bull, told host Steven Bartlett: 'I said I will never coach another team, a different team, in England. So that means if then it’s Liverpool … yeah. Theoretically it’s possible.' He added that at 58, he does not have to decide his future now and can 'see what the future brings.'
However, Klopp admitted he does not miss coaching. 'I don’t miss standing in the rain for two-and-a-half or three hours; I don’t miss going to press conferences four times, three times a week,' he said. He praised successor Arne Slot for winning the Premier League last season, and dismissed concerns over Liverpool's recent four-match losing streak.
Klopp also spoke emotionally about the death of Diogo Jota, who was killed in a car crash in July. 'How do you replace somebody like Diogo? It’s not about the player himself, it’s the guy he was,' he said. 'I still cannot speak properly about it.'
