Katy Perry is set to perform at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, on June 12, ahead of the first World Cup match hosted in the United States. The announcement was made by FIFA on Friday evening, revealing the entertainment lineup for the opening games across all three host nations of the expanded 48-team tournament.
US Opener Entertainment
Before the United States takes on Paraguay, the pre-match ceremony will feature a star-studded lineup including rappers Future, Lisa, and Tyla, singer Anitta, singer and rapper Rema, and DJ Sanjoy. The performance is scheduled to begin 90 minutes before kickoff.
Mexico's Opening Match
The tournament opener between Mexico and South Africa at Mexico City's Azteca Stadium on June 11 will also boast impressive entertainment. Tyla will perform alongside singers Alejandro Fernández, Danny Ocean, Lila Downs, Belinda, and J Balvin, as well as groups Los Ángeles Azules and Maná.
Canada's Debut
Canada's first match against Bosnia and Herzegovina at Toronto's BMO Field will feature performances by Alanis Morissette, Michael Bublé, Alessia Cara, Jessie Reyez, Nora Fatehi, William Prince, Elyanna, and Vegedream, with DJ Sanjoy also appearing.
All ceremonies are set to start 90 minutes before the respective kickoff times, promising a vibrant start to the World Cup across North America.
