Kane's Ballon d'Or Win to Cost Fortune in Gifts

Harry Kane intends to spend a significant sum on gifts for his Bayern Munich and England team-mates after winning the Ballon d'Or, becoming the first Englishman to claim the award since Michael Owen in 2001.

The 33-year-old striker beat Kylian Mbappe and Lamine Yamal to the trophy following a 73-goal campaign last season. Speaking to BILD after the ceremony, Kane confirmed his plans to buy presents for his colleagues at both club and international level.

Kane's Gift Promise

Kane said: "Some of the guys have asked for watches or something similar – so I'll have to come up with something nice for them, both at Bayern and with the England national team. I'll take care of it; I'll definitely get everyone a nice present."

Reflecting on the win, the striker admitted the scale of the achievement is still sinking in. He described the experience as a "truly crazy week" and an "unbelievable evening on Monday," noting the nervousness involved was unlike anything he feels before a match.

Emotional Reaction

Kane explained: "There was a lot of waiting involved, and I kept imagining what it would be like if I actually won. But honestly, it was just something really special. The support I received from friends, family, and fans – through messages, on social media – was almost overwhelming. So many congratulations!"

After the ceremony, Kane said he celebrated with those close to him before returning to work, adding that he is "still trying to process it all."

Knighthood Question

When asked about the possibility of a knighthood, Kane admitted the idea of being called "Sir" would feel strange. He said: "It sounds good, but it would feel kind of strange if everyone called me Sir – so for now, I'll just stick with Harry."

Kane has returned to Germany to a hero's welcome from his Bayern squad. With the next international break approaching, his England team-mates are expected to offer similar recognition to their captain.
