Kai Rooney, the 16-year-old son of Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney, has signed his first professional contract with the club. The forward, who joined United's youth setup at age 11, has been making waves in the academy and recently made his debut for the Under-18s in the FA Youth Cup.
Rooney has also signed with Triple S Sports Management, the agency that represented his father during his playing career. The agency announced the signing on Instagram, expressing excitement about working with the young talent.
Despite his family name, Rooney is not receiving special treatment at United. His father revealed that Kai is required to wear the same boots as his academy teammates, a policy designed to ensure equality among players from different backgrounds.
Rooney denied recent reports that he had been offered a lucrative contract worth £50,000 a week, dismissing the claims on social media. The teenager continues to focus on his development at the club.
