JJ Gabriel remains set on leaving Manchester United and has held a meeting with Bayern Munich over a potential move, while Paul Scholes has responded to Martin Keown's comments on Manchester City's title punishment.
Gabriel meets Bayern Munich
The 16-year-old forward, who turned 16 on Tuesday, asked to leave the club in September. Despite United initially not ruling out the prospect of him staying, he reportedly remains determined to depart Old Trafford.
Bayern Munich held talks with Gabriel's camp on Monday, according to Sky Germany. Real Madrid, Barcelona and PSG are also said to be monitoring the teenager's situation.
Gabriel has decided his future lies away from United after what his camp has reportedly perceived as broken promises over playing time. His representatives wanted him to play at least 20 minutes in United's games against Sabah, Brighton and Bournemouth before discussing a scholarship deal.
Scholes hits back at Keown
Manchester City were found guilty of breaching the Premier League's financial rules over a nine-year period, leading to questions over a suitable punishment. Scholes believes stripping City of the titles they won between 2009 and 2018 and retroactively awarding those who finished second would be the right move.
City won the Premier League for the first time in the 2011/12 season, finishing ahead of United on goal difference on the final day. Scholes played 17 games that season and wrote on X: "Keep hearing ex-teammates say they want trophies taken off them, but they don't want their medals... f*** that, I'm a greedy b******, I want my medal."
Scholes, 51, would earn a 12th league medal in that case, which Arsenal legend Martin Keown called "hollow". Keown said on talkSPORT: "Receiving another medal is a bit hollow. How many does he need? He's got a dozen or so already, but I can't tell him how to behave or think. For me, I just think it should be void. I think if we're going to take away Man City's trophies throughout that period it should be made void."
Scholes responded on Instagram: "And you can do one with that 'void season' nonsense."
