Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola has confirmed that Dominik Szoboszlai will miss Sunday's Premier League clash with Brighton at Anfield, while Bradley Barcola is available and Victor Munoz remains a doubt.
Szoboszlai has been struggling with a hamstring injury sustained while on Nations League duty with Hungary. He missed the 3-0 loss to Manchester City and the Champions League win over LASK, but returned in the comeback win over nine-man Brentford, only to be forced off after 32 minutes with a recurrence of the issue.
He was an unused substitute in Tuesday's Champions League victory over Villarreal, but has not made his existing problem any worse.
Iraola's Update on Szoboszlai
Speaking in Friday's pre-match press conference, Iraola said: "Dom is going to be out this weekend, I don't think he is far [away from a return] but he has not trained with the group still and also considering that the other day we started him and he had to go out."
"He is in a good place, he is already training outside alone and is going to train with the group, but he is not ready for this one," the head coach added.
Barcola Fit, Munoz Doubtful
Barcola, who trained individually on Thursday, has been confirmed fit. "Bradley has trained today normally, he is fine," Iraola said. "It was no problem, just a matter of sometimes you have have to deal with the load and consider sometimes they have to stay inside but he is fine."
Munoz, however, remains a doubt after a knee injury sustained against Brentford. "Victor has a knock he received against Brentford in the first half, he could finish the game very well but he is dealing with some pain since then," Iraola explained. "It was too early the other day against Villarreal, and I think it is going to be difficult [for Brighton] but I really don't know."
