Andrew McKinlay will step down as Hearts chief executive at the end of August, after six years in the role at Tynecastle. The Scottish FA vice president's departure was mutually agreed following discussions with the board, which includes James Franks, representative of Tony Bloom.
Tenure and Transition
McKinlay took over as CEO in August 2020, succeeding former owner Ann Budge, who stepped back from running the club but continued as chair. He arrived just as Hearts were relegated to the Championship following the early end of the Premiership season due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The club will now begin the search for McKinlay's successor.
Statements and Gratitude
McKinlay said: "It has been an honour to serve as CEO of Hearts. I am proud of all that we have achieved during my time at the club and grateful to have worked alongside so many dedicated colleagues, players, supporters and partners. I wish everyone connected with Hearts every success in the future."
Chair Paterson added: "Andrew has served as CEO during a significant period in our history, which has seen considerable progress. On behalf of the Board and everyone at Hearts, I would like to thank Andrew for his contribution, commitment and service to the Club. He leaves with our best wishes for the future."
