Harry Kane reportedly has a clause in his Bayern Munich contract allowing a return to the Premier League next summer for £56.7 million, according to German newspaper Bild. The 32-year-old England captain is under contract until June 2027 but must inform the club before the end of the January 2026 transfer window to activate the clause.
Kane has scored 98 goals in 103 games for Bayern since joining from Tottenham for £86.4 million in 2023. He has won the Bundesliga and German Super Cup and started the 2025/26 season with 13 goals in seven matches.
The report suggests Bayern know Kane is unlikely to extend his stay beyond his current deal, given his unfinished business in the Premier League. He is 47 goals short of Alan Shearer's all-time record of 260 goals in the competition.
Kane has repeatedly stated his happiness in Bavaria, where his wife Kate and their four children have settled. Speaking last season, he said: 'My family is totally here ... I'm really happy here. My kids are loving it here in school.' He also praised manager Vincent Kompany and expressed a desire to remain at the club for the foreseeable future.
Despite the speculation, Kane is not agitating for a move. Bayern are likely to try to offer him a contract extension to end the uncertainty over his future.
