Hampton Left Out of England's Euro 2025 Squad

England goalkeeper Hannah Hampton has been omitted from the Lionesses' squad for the upcoming Euro 2025 tournament, according to sources. The 22-year-old, who was part of the squad that won Euro 2022, has struggled for consistency since that triumph.

Hampton made a strong impression on her senior debut in 2022, winning player of the match against Spain, but was an unused substitute during the European Championship. However, her form dipped afterwards, leading to her being dropped from the national team due to what manager Sarina Wiegman described as 'personal issues'.

The Chelsea-bound shot-stopper also lost her place at Aston Villa for a period, though she later revealed an injury was partly responsible. Since returning, Hampton has regained her form and secured a move to Women's Super League champions Chelsea, but it was not enough to earn a spot in Wiegman's 23-player squad for Euro 2025.

Other notable absentees include captain Leah Williamson, Euro 2022 Golden Boot winner Beth Mead, and Fran Kirby, all of whom are injured. Retired duo Ellen White and Jill Scott are also missing from the squad, which features six players at their first major tournament.
