Haaland urges Man City unity after guilty verdict

Erling Haaland has urged Manchester City supporters to “stick together” following the club’s guilty verdict. An independent commission found City guilty of all 115 financial breach charges, a decision the Premier League side is currently appealing.

The verdict, delivered during the international break, has sparked widespread debate among rival clubs, fans and pundits over potential punishments. City deny all charges and continue to plead their innocence despite the ruling.

Players speak out

Several players have addressed the matter while on international duty, and Haaland is the latest to break his silence. Speaking to Sky Sports, the Norwegian said: “I think they are going to have a good time.”

“We need to stick together. We have to stay with each other and stay positive. No matter what happens in life we have to have a smile. We have to stay positive, look ahead and try to win football games, then try to enjoy the situation and the game. We have to stick together, we have to spread the love to each other, enjoy the ride and smile.”

Injury concerns

Beyond the verdict, City also face injury worries after the international window. Haaland requested a substitution during Norway’s 2-1 defeat to Portugal and was visibly limping as he left the pitch. The extent of any injury remains unclear.

Antoine Semenyo withdrew from the Ghana squad with a swollen leg, while Nico O’Reilly left the England camp early with an unspecified issue.

City return to Premier League action against Liverpool on Sunday, where Jamie Carragher has said they can expect a feisty reception at Anfield.
