Manchester City have announced a 28-man squad for their pre-season tour of Asia, with several high-profile players absent. Jack Grealish and Kalvin Phillips are among those left out, while Gianluigi Donnarumma and Phil Foden will travel.
Grealish out with injury
Jack Grealish was in contention for the squad but misses out due to an injury issue. He posted images on social media from Mallorca on Tuesday as he recovers.
Phillips set for move
Kalvin Phillips has also been excluded from the travelling party. The midfielder is expected to seal a loan move to Sheffield United, where he spent the second half of last season. He will not join the tour as a result.
Donnarumma and Foden feature
Gianluigi Donnarumma and Phil Foden are among the big-name stars flying out to Asia. Neither was involved in the World Cup this summer, so they have reported back for pre-season training early.
Youngsters given chance
Enzo Maresca has included several academy prospects in the squad. Jeremy Monga, Kaden Braithwaite, Floyd Samba, Jaden Heskey and Ryan McAidoo are all set to travel and impress during the three-game tour.
The Manchester Evening News' Chief Manchester City Correspondent Simon Bajkowski is in Asia covering the tour, providing daily updates and full coverage of City's preparations for the 2026/27 season.
