Olivier Giroud has revealed his favourite Arsenal goal – the scorpion kick volley against Crystal Palace on New Year’s Day 2017. The striker, now at Lille, said the strike was his best and predicted it would never be repeated.
The 39-year-old, who joined Lille this summer after a stint at Los Angeles FC, is open to extending his career beyond 40, emulating Cristiano Ronaldo. He said any decision would involve his wife and family, adding that he is living in the moment.
Giroud, who still owns a house in Wimbledon, moved to Lille partly due to its proximity to London. His 105 goals for Arsenal helped the club win three FA Cups. He also holds the France scoring record with 57 goals, but expects Kylian Mbappe to surpass that tally, potentially reaching close to 100.
