Morgan Gibbs-White is available for Nottingham Forest's Premier League match at Liverpool on Saturday, manager Oliver Glasner has confirmed. The attacking midfielder had been a doubt after twisting his ankle in the season opener and later suffering knee pain, which also ruled him out of the Carabao Cup tie.
Glasner confirms availability
Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Friday, Glasner said: 'Morgan is available, and Ryan Yates is available, which is good news.' However, he added: 'But Ibrahim [Sangare] has picked up a minor calf injury in Wednesday's training session and will miss tomorrow's game. But the other two are available.'
Forest travel to Anfield for the early kick-off still seeking their first win under Glasner, who took over from Crystal Palace. They lost late to Leeds United in their Premier League opener and were then eliminated from the Carabao Cup by the same opponents, failing to score in either match.
New signing could debut
Following those two defeats, Forest signed striker Liam Delap from Chelsea in a deal worth up to £50 million. The Englishman could make his debut at Liverpool, with Glasner explaining the pursuit: 'We were in talks for many days to be honest, we tried to convince him and obviously we could convince Liam that Nottingham Forest is the right club, at the right moment for where he is in his career.'
Glasner also noted Delap's appeal across the league: 'Also I think, before he picked Chelsea, everybody in the Premier League wanted Liam after his amazing season at Ipswich.' He added that the club sought a striker 'with physicality and especially pace and runs in behind', complementing existing options like Chris Wood.
