Northern Ireland's Euro 2020 Hopes Dented by Late Netherlands Collapse

Northern Ireland's hopes of qualifying for Euro 2020 suffered a devastating blow as they conceded two stoppage-time goals to lose 3-1 to the Netherlands in Rotterdam.

Josh Magennis had given Michael O'Neill's side a shock lead with a header, putting them on course for a famous victory. However, Memphis Depay equalised five minutes later and then scored his second in the fourth minute of added time, after setting up Luuk de Jong for the Netherlands' second goal.

Northern Ireland battled bravely for 90 minutes and looked set to secure a valuable point, but the late collapse leaves them third in Group C, level on points with the Netherlands and Germany, who both have a game in hand and face Northern Ireland next month.
