Highly-touted quarterback prospect Dylan Raiola has flipped his college commitment from Georgia to Nebraska, according to reports. The 18-year-old is ranked as ESPN's top pocket-passing QB in the 2024 recruiting class and the No. 8 overall high school player in the 2024 ESPN 300.
In an interview with ESPN, Raiola confirmed he is set to join Nebraska, following in the footsteps of his father Dominic, an All-American offensive lineman for the university, and his uncle Donovan, the school's offensive line coach. 'I firmly believe that Nebraska is in my blood,' Raiola said. 'It's a great opportunity to be part of something bigger than myself. Nebraska is a special place.'
News of Raiola's change of heart came shortly after Georgia quarterback Carson Beck announced he would return to school for his redshirt senior season rather than declaring for the 2024 NFL Draft. Beck threw for 3,738 yards, 22 touchdowns, six interceptions, and completed 72.4 percent of his passes in his first year as starter, leading the Bulldogs to a 12-1 record.
Nebraska is now the third team Raiola has committed to, after originally committing to Ohio State before decommitting and switching to Georgia. The Cornhuskers are currently in the midst of a seven-year bowl drought. 'I think it'll mean a lot to bring it back,' Raiola said. 'Just because of the legacy of so many great players that have walked through that locker room.'
