Thomas Frank Confirms Tottenham's January Transfer Plans After Palace Win
Frank: Tottenham Will Be in January Transfer Market

Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank has strongly indicated the club will be active in the upcoming January transfer window, following a morale-boosting victory to end 2025.

Frank Eyes Market Moves After Selhurst Park Boost

Spurs closed the year with a narrow but crucial 1-0 win away at Crystal Palace on Sunday 28 December 2025. The solitary goal, a match-winner from teenage midfielder Archie Gray, provided a rare bright spot in a turbulent first half of the campaign for the North London side.

Despite the three points, Tottenham remain in the bottom half of the Premier League table, sitting in 11th place. Their form, particularly at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, has been a major concern, with just two wins from nine home games this season.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the final whistle at Selhurst Park, Frank was direct about the club's intentions for the winter window. "Of course the window will open and we will be in the market and see if there's anything we can do," he stated. "But it needs to be something where we think it can clearly improve the team, if not I'd rather want to wait. But we will be out there."

Summer Signings Yet to Fire as Home Woes Continue

Frank's comments come after a significant summer overhaul of the squad's attack, which has so far failed to deliver the expected returns. Big-money signings Xavi Simons and Mohammed Kudus, alongside loanee Randal Kolo Muani, have managed a combined total of only three Premier League goals between them.

This lack of firepower is seen as a primary reason for the team's dismal home record, which features five defeats and just two wins in front of their own fans. The need for a player who can provide a consistent goal threat is considered urgent if Spurs are to climb the table in the second half of the season.

Youthful Promise Offers Glimmer of Hope

Amidst the struggles, Frank can take encouragement from the development of his young midfield talents. Both Archie Gray and fellow teenager Lucas Bergvall have impressed with their performances, offering a foundation for the future.

Frank was full of praise for Gray after his decisive contribution at Palace. "He got his matchwinner moment. Very big. Very happy for him," the manager said. "I think he's growing a lot. I think he's doing a lot of things right in the middle of the park. Really liked that today. He just ended up with a goal. I think it was very good."

As the January transfer window approaches, the challenge for Tottenham's hierarchy will be to identify and secure targets that can provide the immediate improvement Frank demands, while integrating them into a squad showing flashes of promise from its younger members.
