Nottingham Forest Agree €9m Deal for Swiss Midfielder Remo Freuler

Nottingham Forest have reached an agreement to sign Swiss midfielder Remo Freuler from Atalanta for an initial €9m (£7.6m), plus add-ons. The 30-year-old is expected to undergo a medical shortly and will become Forest's 14th signing of the summer transfer window.

The deal, once completed, will push the club's total spending this window to approximately £78m, excluding undisclosed fees for Brandon Aguilera and Ryan Hammond. Freuler has signed a three-year contract with the Premier League side.

Freuler made 260 appearances for Atalanta over seven seasons after joining in January 2016. He featured in all 12 of the club's European matches last season, including Champions League and Europa League fixtures. Internationally, he has earned 46 caps for Switzerland and played every match at Euro 2020, where the Swiss reached the quarter-finals for the first time.
