Falkirk stormed to a 5-2 victory over Hearts at Tynecastle, securing a fifth consecutive league win and heaping pressure on Hearts head coach Wouter Vrancken. The visitors were 3-0 up within 37 minutes and led 4-0 at half-time, with the home support heading for the exits early.
First-half blitz leaves Hearts reeling
Finley Barbrook opened the scoring in the fourth minute, converting after Beau Reus had saved from Jacob Murrell. Owen Eames made it 2-0 after a Falkirk counter-attack, and Murrell added a third with a header before Liam Henderson curled in a fourth from the edge of the box.
Murrell scored his second of the afternoon just after the break, with Ethan Ross providing the assist, to make it 5-0. Sabri Guendouz pulled one back in the 50th minute and Claudio Braga added another in the 75th, but the damage was done.
Pressure grows on Vrancken
The defeat leaves Hearts with just two wins since the last international break, and the mood around Tynecastle is turning toxic. Boos accompanied the goals, and the home fans who stayed made their feelings clear about the manager's position.
Falkirk, by contrast, go into the break in third place, having been second bottom when the last break began. The win lifts them above Hearts in the table.
