Everton are preparing to reintegrate Jack Grealish into the first-team squad after the attacking midfielder was sidelined for a breach of club discipline. The 31-year-old, on loan from Manchester City, missed the two matches against Newcastle last week, with a lack of fitness cited for his absence in the 1-0 Premier League win at St James' Park, after being reported ill for the 2-0 defeat by Arsenal the previous week.
Return to training
According to The Athletic, Grealish has returned to training at Finch Farm but has not yet rejoined his team-mates in the first-team fold. The plan is to reintegrate him ahead of Everton's game against Brentford after the November international break, which means he will not face Coventry City this weekend.
Manager's comments
Manager David Moyes said of Grealish on Thursday: "I wouldn't give you the plan but we will be working with Jack again soon." This followed Moyes backing the "club's decision" to omit the winger from the Carabao Cup tie against Newcastle, which Everton won 3-1 with goals from James Garner, Hayden Hackney and Thierno Barry.
